Shopify order tracking automation

"Where is my order?" is the single largest category of e-commerce support volume, and almost none of it needs a human. It needs the shipping status, delivered at the moment the customer starts wondering.

Two ways to kill WISMO volume

The reactive fix is an agent that answers order-status questions instantly, in any channel, from live carrier data. That removes the wait.

The proactive fix is better: tell the customer before they ask. A parcel that has not scanned in four days is a ticket waiting to happen, and you already have the data to see it coming.

  • Instant status replies

Customer asks in email, chat or DM; the agent identifies the order from the address or order number and answers with the real carrier state.

  • Proactive exception alerts

Stalled scans, failed delivery attempts and customs holds are surfaced and communicated before the customer notices.

  • Delivery-window expectations

Replies quote the carrier's current estimate, not the promise made at checkout — which is where most "you said three days" complaints come from.

  • Address and delivery changes

Routed to a human while the order is still editable, rather than discovered after dispatch.

How it works

  1. 1. Read orders and fulfilments

Reguron pulls order, fulfilment and tracking records from Shopify, including the carrier tracking number attached to each fulfilment.

  2. 2. Watch for exceptions

Each shipment is monitored against expected transit time. A parcel that goes quiet for longer than its route should allow is flagged.

  3. 3. Answer or notify

Inbound questions get an immediate, order-specific answer. Outbound exception messages go out on the channel the customer prefers.

  4. 4. Escalate the genuinely broken ones

Lost parcels and failed deliveries become a human task with the full shipment history attached.

What to measure

Track WISMO as a share of total ticket volume before you start, because that is the number this is supposed to move. Then watch the proportion of order-status conversations that close without a human reply.

The counter-metric is complaint rate on proactive messages. Over-messaging about a parcel that is simply in transit creates anxiety and generates the exact tickets you were trying to prevent. Fewer, better-timed notifications beat more of them.

FAQ

Which carriers are supported?

Tracking is read from the fulfilment records in your store, so any carrier that writes a tracking number back to Shopify is visible. Depth of per-carrier detail varies — confirm your specific carriers with us rather than assuming.

Can it tell a customer their parcel is late before they complain?

That is the intended behaviour: shipments that stop scanning for longer than their route should take are flagged. How aggressive the notification threshold should be is a per-store decision, and worth tuning conservatively at first.

Does it change anything in my store?

Answering order-status questions only requires read access. Any action that modifies an order is a separate, explicitly granted permission.

What about marketplace orders?

Marketplace order tracking — Trendyol, Hepsiburada and others — follows the same pattern, but each marketplace exposes different data. See the integration pages for what each one currently covers.
